Saw this awesome photo by Edward McGowan, who I’ve been been on flickr for a minute and I was blown away by how it was created. TAKE A LOOK SEE!
Think I may try something similar in the near future.
Over the past few weeks I’ve been preparing to take photos at a wedding, my wife’s cousin is getting married. Every now and again I open my web browser, flipping through the pages or the inter-web. Hoping inspiration will jump at me saying “Here I am!”
Well, between shooting an engagement session for said couple and a wedding anniversary session, with a friend, I stumbled upon a blog called Munaluchi Bride. They do an awesome job and capturing couples. And this particular photo is stupendous.
On Sunday April 15, I was booked to do an engagement photo shoot with my wife’s cousin, Dowtown Kingston - on the Waterfront. Two hours before the shoot rain drenched the streets of Kingston, impregnating me with doubt… But then, at the 11th hour, the skies cleared and we headed out to make use of what little light we had.
This particular shot I like because it’s an “almost silhouette” which captures the couple leaning into each other.
Took the day off from work today to go to the beach, with ‘mi familia y amigos.’ it was well worth it.
See you at work tomorrow!
If you want to be a lazy photographer, photography is not the place for you.
Over the weekend my wife had a few girlfriends over and I used the opportunity to drive round Kingston, looking for locations that would be amazing to photograph.
Zach & Jody inspire me. First saw them on Creative Live and I’ve been following them since. Glad they shared this ‘behind the scenes’ video… it’s a pleasure to watch them in action.
iPodography Challenge: Day 28 of 28
This was on of the most hectic days of February. I had to finish a few proposals, call clients to see if cheques were ready and sift through some Joomla code to solve an issue. By the time the day was done it was time to shower and go to bed.
The shower curtain in the photo is one of my favourites. I actually wanted it prior to the birth of my son but my want wasn’t justified. My son and I both love the shower curtain and he calls all the sea creatures on it ‘ish.
iPodography Challenge: Day 27 of 28
At 1yr and a month my son is still learning to his words. However, there are a few things he communicates clearly - like when he wants to go outside.
I’ll be sitting, watching the tv or using my iPod, and he comes over with his shoes. I put then on and we walk over to the door. Without any help from me, off he goes.
In this photos we had just come inside, I turned around to get something and EJ escaped.
iPodography Challenge: Day 26 of 28
The photo on the left was taken by me and the one on the right by my wife (they are both of our son EJ). If it wasn’t for my wife these photos would still be on a hard drive.
Having come from a family where photos were not often taken, I struggle to document my journey through life using pictures. Thank God this was a norm for my wife and she’s helping find the balance. Especially, now that we are actively investing in the next generation.
This year I hope to shoot more, print more and to embrace proudly whatever emotion floods my heart when I review my prints. And hopefully those around me will be able to appreciate my work.
