Reflections by Praise Academy of Dance Jamaica is the 3rd dance show I’ve covered since I started photography; I covered their previous show courtesy of Mattan Images … I was pleasantly surprised to see my images on the Gleaner’s website this morning.
You need to get the technical out of the way so you can get to the creative
Growing up this was never the norm and I’ll do my best to ensure it isn’t for my children. Hopefully we can find the balance or something close to it.
I had the privilege of working with @daynanicole and @LyricRochester, make-up artist, recently. Two fun and easy going people.
Wish I had seen this video before my last engagement session.
“What’s my style?” This Has been the question plaguing these last few weeks and I’ve been over thinking every session since.
I started out with natural light, progressed to continuous lights and now I’m using speedlights. It’s been a struggle striking the creative balance. The last engagement session I did I wasn’t sure what I wanted so asked around. Fortunately I got some good advice from @salcincotta and @ZachandJody, though there are still a few things I need to work out artistically.
The post processing techniques used in this photo aren’t what I’d typically do but I like the end result and I’ll certainly be experimenting some more until I find “my style.”
A headshot of one of the most beautiful ladies I know, my wife.
We’re running a promotion for the next two weeks called Headshots and I decided today that I’ll be using a two light setup that gives me multiple looks with little hassle. This was one of those looks using clamshell lighting.
The week past has been one filled with photographic experimentations. I ventured outdoors again and I tried a new editing style. I still have a few loose ends to tie up and they say “practice makes…”
Sweet! My Canon T299 Speedlite works with my wireless flash remote trigger system, which I recently discovered… so I did a 3-point light setup with speedlites, something I’ve done before with continuous light. I even experimented a bit with the edit… and I likie!
Success is…

Growing to reach your maximum potential, and
Sowing seeds that benefit others.
